AAMI was forced to change its TV advertisement featuring a young girl playing an ear-piercing recorder in the back seat of her parents’ broken down car. The revised advert shows the young girl playing the recorder, but with a less annoying, more pleasant sound.
On facebook AAMI stated: “A sincere ‘Thanks’ to everyone who took the time to let us know what you thought about our latest ad (even those Tweets suggesting our ad team be retrenched) #Gulp.”
Even big advertising companies get it wrong sometimes, it appears.
